JOYN Recognised for Excellence in the Auckland Westpac Business Awards

Last week I went along to Okahu in Orakei, Auckland, to attend a networking evening where they would be announcing the Finalists in this year’s Central Auckland Westpac Business Awards.  That’s me, above, with my wife Jayne (the original inspiration for what became JOYN back in 2012 when our kids were tiny and she was looking for flexible recruitment work).  That’s also the back of Michael Barnett, Chief Executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, and also MC for the night.

We were delighted to be announced as Finalists in the 2019 Best Emerging Business Category.

JOYN has been on an incredible journey since launching in April 2017, re-branding from the old virtualRPO business and investing significantly in developing the technology, analytics and automation sides of the business.  We’ve all worked super hard to build an innovative new model in the recruitment industry, where often the traditional old-school approach is still de rigeur, and many attempts to disrupt or innovate in the past have failed.  Our unique pay-as-you-go, zero placement fee, recruitment service is gaining fantastic traction all across New Zealand and it’s a great feeling to be recognised for all of the hard work and sacrifices made by everyone in the team so far.

All About The People

It’s also awesome to be able to raise a glass to our community of over 70 freelance Recruitment and HR professionals across New Zealand who work through the JOYN platform and have delivered such amazing work and outcomes that the average client rating after 2 1/2 years is at 9.15 out of 10 (yes we’re all about transparency in recruitment too with our Consultants’ individual ratings visible on our website).

JOYN was among a number of companies that were recognised for their business excellence in various categories.  Winners will be announced at a gala evening on 31 October at The Cordis Hotel in Central Auckland and I’d like to wish the other five companies in our category the best of luck for the overall win, I am well aware of how hard they all must have worked to reach this stage.
